 The Japan Angel Investors Association (hereinafter referred to as the “Association”) recognizes the importance of personal information, and recognizes the importance of personal information. We have established the following privacy policy in order to handle personal information in compliance with the laws and regulations, guidelines, etc. regarding the Personal Information Protection Act.

Article 1 (Definition)

 

  1. Personal Information: Information about a living individual, which can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, or other descriptions included in the information (including information that can be easily collated with other information to identify a specific individual), or information containing personal identification codes.

  2. Personal Identification Code: Characters, numbers, symbols, or other codes specified by the Enforcement Regulations of the Personal Information Protection Act that can identify a specific individual from the information alone.

  3. Sensitive Personal Information: Information specified by the Personal Information Protection Act that requires special consideration in handling to avoid unfair discrimination, prejudice, or other disadvantages, such as race, creed, social status, medical history, criminal record, etc.

  4. Personal Information Database: A collection of information containing personal information, systematically organized to be searchable using a computer, or organized and classified according to certain rules to facilitate easy retrieval of specific personal information by providing indexes, indices, codes, etc., and made easily searchable by others.

  5. Personal Data: Personal information constituting a personal information database, etc.

  6. Disclosure, etc.: Refers to disclosure (including disclosure of third-party provision records), correction, addition or deletion of contents, suspension of use, erasure, and suspension of provision to third parties, all of which are requested by the individual or their representative.

Article 2 (Acquisition of personal information)

 

Our association collects and acquires personal information through methods compliant with laws and regulations, and we never collect or acquire personal information through deception or other fraudulent means. Additionally, our association collects the following personal information concerning membership applications or other activities related to our association:

1. Personal identification information of members:
Name, position, date of birth, gender, address, email address, Facebook address, etc.

2. Information related to member payments:
Financial institution account information, payment method information, etc.

3. Information about entrepreneurs obtained through our association’s activities:
Name, position, date of birth, gender, address, email address, Facebook address, etc.

4. Information about employees or personnel of affiliated organizations of our association:
Name, position, email address, Facebook address, etc.

5. Other information:
Inquiry information to the contact point specified in Article 11.

Article 3 (Acquisition of personal information requiring special consideration)

Our association will not acquire sensitive personal information without the prior consent of the person, except in cases permitted by the Personal Information Protection Act.

Article 4 (Purpose of use of personal information)

The purposes for which our association uses personal information are as follows:

– For the operation, implementation, and management of various projects.
– For the management of members.
– To inform members of various services provided by members and activities of our association.
– For sharing information among members.
– To facilitate matching among members, entrepreneurs, and affiliated organizations.
– To notify members, sponsors, affiliated organizations, and advisors of the operation of our pitch events, mentoring, etc., conducted by our association.
– For communication, inquiries, or responses from our association.
– For data collection on startup-related information, legal revisions, etc., conducted by our association.
– To analyze inquiries received by our association and improve and enhance our services.
– To promote the activities of our association.

Article 5 (Change of purpose of use)

The Association may change the purpose of use to the extent that it is reasonably deemed to be related to the purpose of use before the change. In this case, the Association will promptly announce the changed purpose of use on this website.

Article 6 (Ensuring accuracy of data content, etc.)

The Association strives to keep personal data accurate and up-to-date to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use, and to delete such personal data without delay when it is no longer necessary to use it.

Article 7 (Safety management measures)

Our association shall take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal data and to ensure the security management of personal data. The security management measures implemented by our association include the following:

1. Establishment of basic policies:
We have established this Privacy Policy, including compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines, as well as the establishment of a contact point for inquiries and complaints, to ensure the proper handling of personal data.

2. Establishment of rules and regulations regarding the handling of personal data:
We have established basic procedures for the acquisition, use, and storage of personal data.

3. Organizational security measures:
We have appointed responsible personnel for handling personal data and clarified their responsibilities.

4. Physical security measures:
We have implemented measures to prevent theft or loss of equipment, electronic media, documents, etc., that handle personal data. When carrying such equipment or electronic media, we take measures to ensure that personal data is not easily identifiable.

5. Technical security measures:
We implement necessary access controls for personal data and introduce mechanisms to protect equipment handling personal data from unauthorized access or malicious software from external sources.

Article 8 (Supervision of subcontractors)

When our association outsources all or part of the handling of personal data, we select an appropriate outsourcing company, and then conduct periodic audits or other methods to understand the handling status of personal data at the outsourcing company. We will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over entrusted parties to ensure the safe management of personal data entrusted with their handling.

Article 9 (Provision of personal data to third parties)

Our association will not provide personal data to third parties without the prior consent of the person, except in cases permitted by the Personal Information Protection Act.
